These terms govern your purchase and use of Quest Viewer, a Windows application, and the Quest Streaming SDK, a Unity package. By installing or using either, or by buying a licence, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the software.
Plain summary. You may install the free tier on as many computers as you like, forever. A paid licence adds features and covers a set number of computers, which you may move between machines whenever you want. You may not resell the software or share your key. Refunds are 14 days. We provide the software as is, and our liability is limited to what you paid.
Quest Viewer and the Quest Streaming SDK are built and sold by Gowtham Baskaran, a sole proprietorship in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: gowthambaskaran.xr@gmail.com.
Purchases are processed by our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record. They are the seller of record for the transaction, handle your payment details, and calculate and remit applicable sales tax, VAT or GST. We never see or store your card number.
Quest Viewer receives live video streamed from Meta Quest headsets over your local network and displays it on a Windows PC.
Quest Viewer only works with VR applications built using the Quest Streaming SDK. It cannot capture, mirror or record arbitrary Quest applications, games or system screens. A headset appears in Quest Viewer only because software you or your developer built, and chose to deploy, is transmitting to it.
Video travels directly between the headset and your PC. We operate no media servers and have no technical means to see, store or record what you stream. See our Privacy Policy.
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Quest Viewer for your own purposes or those of your organisation, on the number of computers your tier allows:
| Tier | Computers | Term |
|---|---|---|
| Free | unlimited | perpetual |
| Pro trial | the computer you start it on | 15 days |
| Pro | 3 | annual or perpetual, as purchased |
| Organization | 10 | annual or perpetual, as purchased |
You may deactivate a computer at any time from within the application and activate another in its place, as often as you need.
The SDK is free of charge. You may embed it in your own VR applications, including commercial ones, and distribute those applications, at no cost and with no royalty. Where the SDK is obtained through the Unity Asset Store, the Unity Asset Store EULA also applies.
We retain all intellectual property rights in both products. You are granted a licence to use the software, not ownership of it.
You are responsible for how you deploy the software and for compliance with the law where you operate. In particular, if you use Quest Viewer to view sessions involving other people — participants at a VR venue, trainees, students, research subjects — you are responsible for telling them, and for obtaining any consent your local law requires, including consent from a parent or guardian where a participant is a minor. Recording may carry additional obligations. We provide a tool; the lawful use of it is yours to ensure.
We offer a 14-day refund from the date of purchase, with no forms and no questions required. Email us and we will process it.
Nothing here limits any statutory refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer law of your own country.
Support is provided by email at gowthambaskaran.xr@gmail.com. We aim to reply within two business days. Organization licences receive priority. Paid terms include support and updates for the duration of the term.
The user manual covers installation, streaming, licensing and troubleshooting, and answers most questions faster than we can.
We may add, change or remove features in new releases. We will not deliberately disable a version you have already installed and licensed. We may discontinue sales of a product at any time; if we do, licences already sold remain valid on their terms.
The software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error free, or that it will work with every network, router, headset or PC configuration.
Streaming performance depends on your own network, which is outside our control.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that applies, the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent the law permits, and nothing in these terms removes a right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the software or these terms is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Where you use the free tier and have paid nothing, our liability is limited to zero.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or business interruption, even if we were advised such damages were possible.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Your licence terminates if you materially breach these terms — for example by reselling the software, sharing your key, or circumventing licence checks. On termination you must stop using the paid features and may delete the software. Sections 3 (ownership), 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.
You may stop using the software at any time. If you are within the refund window, see section 7.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Salem, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
We may update these terms. The version in force for your purchase is the one published on this page on the date you bought your licence. We will change the date at the top of this page when we make an update, and note material changes in our release notes. Continuing to use the software after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
